Lynch architects believe in the potential of powerfully contextual architecture to complement and to enrich the city and the countryside. Our projects have been widely published and we won the Young Architects of the Year Award 2005-6.
Patrick Lynch studied at Liverpool, Lyon and Cambridge universities and Claudia studied in Dresden, Liverpool and London. Patrick taught at The Architectural Association 2001-3, at Kingston University 1997-2003, and at London Metropolitan University 2005-7. Claudia worked for many years in the offices of Michael Willford and Partners and van Heyningen and Haward.
We are inspired by architecture that is a support for life and we seek to reveal in our work the latent historical continuity of places and human situations. Our associate architects are Naomi Shaw and Michael Gollings. Our work ranges from individual houses and residential and commercial developments to arts and community projects. We are interested in projects of a variety of scales and are particularly specialist in working in historic contexts.
Patrick is currently teaching at University College Dublin and as a visiting critic at Dublin Institute of Technology.
Lynch Architects opened an office in Dublin in 2007 and we are exhibiting in The Irish Pavilion at The Venice Architectural Biennale 2008. |
